Artist's Comments

The first of my deviations to be available as a print.

This is a color version of "The Fountain" [link] Thanks to ~ZachNiles and ~Baka525 for suggesting this. :) I'm not sure if I like this or the B&W version better, though - what do you think?

Nikon D70s, 18-70 3.5-4.5 (focal length 29 mm), 1.3 sec at f/5.0, ISO 200
Color adjustments, contrast, and vignetting - iPhoto/Adobe Lightroom
Border - Adobe Photoshop CS2

Great photo! I love the golds and the blues together. Very magical looking. I checked out the B&W as well, and I must say that I can't decide which I'd prefer. They're both excellent. Awesome work. :)

I like colour better, itīs warmer and makes for a better composition, it feels better tha B&W

I like it a lot. especially the fact that there are people in front of it! Most of the night fountain shots are without any living objects, as they could move and blur the pic!

Nice work!

PS - Forgot to mention that the silhouette of the two people really add some emotion to this shot, too.

I think I prefer the color - the golden light of the fountain is beautiful. I love your night shots, they're so clear! Shooting at night is next to impossible for me. ;p

But I'm getting better at fighting the future.
Someday you'll be fine.
Yes, I'll be just fine.

I prefer the colour... for the warmth of the fountain, and the blue of the sky brings out the foreground that much more!

I prefer the color one, you just don't get the same effect with the B&W, the blue and gold works very well together in this, but in the B&W it's just not the same (astute observation eh?)

Photography is the power of observation, not the application of technology.
